We are here to support any person affected by the death of a baby. We offer one-to-one befriending, telephone support and advice as well as regular group support meetings.


We work with people in Bedfordshire and surrounding areas and all of our services are provided free of charge by local volunteers - Beds SANDS receives no funding other than by donation.

Shop and support Beds SANDS in December!


Bedfordshire SANDS has been fortunate enough to be chosen as one of the featured charities for December at the Rushden branch of Waitrose.
As you may know, the Waitrose 'Community Matters' scheme sees each branch donate £1000 every month to three local charities or community projects.
The proportion of the £1000 that each charity/project receives is determined by customers - when you go through the tills, you are given a token that you then place in the box assigned to the good cause you want to support.
The Rushden Waitrose is just over the Bedfordshire border and easily accessible via the A45 - if you happen to be passing or just want to do some Christmas or other shopping in a big, well-stocked store, why not drop in and lend your support to Beds SANDS?

Prioritising future projects

Beds SANDS is looking to select a small number of projects as a focus for our fundraising and wider work over the next year or so.
Our members have provided some great suggestions (and we're already implementing some), but we'd now like your help to prioritise them.
On the right hand side of the screen, you'll find an online poll (you may have to scroll down a bit to locate it) that will enable you to 'vote' for your favourite ideas quickly and easily.

Venue: Priory Church of St Peter, Church St, Dunstable LU6 3SF. (Directions)
This is a service for anyone who has lost babies or children at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital. Parents, siblings and wider family are welcome. The service is conducted by Elizabeth Bradley the hospital chaplain, and the readings are done by paediatric/maternity staff/consultants.
